Say No to Traffic Exchange if You Use Adsense

December 31st, 2008 4 comments

If you are a newbie then you might be using some traffic exchange programs to get initial traffic. But remember not to use Adsense in your site then. It is against Google Adsense TOS:

Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest. Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to your account being disabled.

Free Domain Can Be The Reason For Failure

December 25th, 2008 No comments

Free domain! That really can attract you as a newbie. But read before you use one. Most of the free domains are nothing but url redirection services. They will give you a nice little url instead of your long one.

But url redirection creates framed webpage. That’s where the trouble comes from. Search engines like Google or Yahoo cannot crawl through the content of a framed webpage. They will just index the title, meta keywords & description.

How to Check Whether a Blog Is Dofollow or Not

December 19th, 2008 2 comments

Here are a few ways to find whether a blog is dofollow or not. First, I would like to tell you a more technical way that you can implement in any computer, whether home or away.
Go to a particular post in a blog with comments. Copy a commentator’s name. Now right click on the page & then click “View Page Source”. Search the source with the copied the name. Now see the right side of it that contains the site link. If you find anything like rel='nofollow' or rel='external nofollow' then it is nofollow. Otherwise, it is dofollow.
Now another easier way to find it out if you are a Firefox user. Just install NoDoFollow addon in Firedox. Now right click on any page & select “NoDoFollow”. Nofollow links will get highlighted with red & dofollow links as blue.

I found this working method in Google groups. What you need to do is to go to Google apps & disable the webpage service. You can follow the simple but full-proof steps below to make sure everything goes all right:

  • Go to domain dns management & change the CNAME record to www. & point to ghs.google.com.
