Yes, Yahoo is shutting down Content Match for contextual network ads in Europe on 31st March, 2009. As reported by PPC Hero, they have received a letter from Yahoo saying,
As a valued client we are writing to give you advance notice of the closure of our Content Match product in Europe.
The decision to close Content Match underlines our commitment to focus on our Sponsored Search and Display business and to simplify our solutions to deliver a high ROI for our advertisers.
Content Match will close on 31 March 2009, after which the product will no longer be supported.
All Advertisers should therefore opt out of the Content Match marketplace by this date.
Your account manager will be happy to assist you.
Opt-out instructions:
1. Login to your account.
2. Click on the ‘Administration’ tab.
3. Click on the ‘Edit’ button next to ‘Tactic Settings’
4. Set ‘Content Match Status’ to OFF.
5. Click on the ‘Save Changes’ button.
We aim to work with you to propose alternative products.
So, Yahoo is going to concentrate on “Sponsored Search” & “Display business”. But will they shut it down in USA too in the future? We have to keep an eye on it.
Description page of Yahoo Content Match UK isn’t showing any message still. But I don’t see any reason not to believe PPC Hero.
You can find your MyBlogLog profile ID when you click on “edit bio” link just below your profile picture. But this is not necessarily your MyBlogLog blog ID. When your register your first blog your profile ID gets assigned to it.
For each other blog you register with them you will get separate blog ID. To get your blog ID click on the “Settings” link of the corresponding blog.
The ID will be shown in the url of the link. Check for “id=” at the last part. The number after that is your MyBlogLog ID.
Now, if you want, you can easily move your blog between Blogger, WordPress, MovableType & LiveJournal platforms thanks to new Google Blog Converters. It is the new open source project of Google Data Liberation Team released on January 9. Go to this page & on the right side-bar you will find links to convert between the export formats of Blogger, WordPress, MovableType & LiveJournal.
Currently you can directly convert from:
- WordPress to Blogger
- Blogger to WordPress

It is just a matter of few clicks. In one of my previous posts I have told you the reason for
There was a problem opening a secure connection to Google. This is what went wrong:
Connection timed out (110)
when trying to import from Blogger to WordPress & how you can bypass it. Now there is another easy way to do it
Besides, if you want to download the source code for Google Blog Converters, you can find that link too in the same page.
Do you know you can get a feed rank for your blog or site that offers RSS feed. This numeric system is created by RSSMicro & no way affiliated with Google. Just like PR, it checks your feed with a unique algorithm & assigns a grade number out of 10. You can get the code to show your FeedRank in your site.
See my current FeedRank image:

The algorithm checks traffic, data etc. & most importantly a new concept Feed Delta. Feed Delta is a mechanism that checks array of articles of your site for uniqueness. It helps to separate potential spam sites from content rich sites.
Every rank has a separate meaning. You can find that in this page. There you can check your blog or site’s FeedRank too.
Do you know you can add a custom description to your blog feed in FeedBurner? Just click Optimize tab & then go to Title/Description Burner from the side-menu. You can add or change your feed title & description quite easily from there.
I have tested it personally with Adbrite & it worked. So thought it worth mentioning. Find the below lines of code in nph-proxy.cgi:
$table_close
</center>
</form>
EOF
Put your ad code in between
</form> & EOF. There are two instances of the code in the page & you have to add your ad code in both the places.
That is all. Your ad will get displayed in proxified pages from now on.
Are you looking for a contact form plugin to hide your email address from spammers? The two most popular WordPress plugins in this field are Contact Form 7 & Cforms II. I just installed & have a quick look at those plugins as i was trying to set up my contact page.
I have chosen Contact Form 7 simply because of its simple user interface. The admin panel of Cforms II plugin looks a bit clumsy if you are looking to build a simple form. You will get many features but all are not essential after all.
On the other hand, you will get a default form code in Contact Form 7. You can easily generate additional tags & paste them wherever you want in the form code. If you have a bit of experience in looking at codes you can do it easily. Besides, like CformsII it supports CAPTCHA & file upload field too.
Look at the screenshot for Contact Form 7 admin panel:

Don’t forget to contact me for any reason. My contact page set up is complete & working perfectly
Tumblr is another free blog host that supports custom domain. But it is not like traditional blog platforms such as Blogger or WordPress. It is based on tumblelog which favors short media mixed posts with little or no commentary. You can say it a perfect blog for busier guys. If you don’t have time to write lengthy posts, just update your readers or friends with any of the following six types of posts:
- a traditional post
- a photo
- a quote
- a single link
- a conversational transcript
- a video

You just need to add the text or media according to the type. Tumblr will handle all the formatting for you. Isn’t it great?
The attraction of Tumblr is in its simplicity & lightening fast way of publishing. But simplicity is its weak point too. There are no options for comments, trackbacks, timestamps or even search capabilities. If you are a problogger, you will feel disappointed by the lack of CMS feature.
What is your blog? Dofollow or nofollow? Are you thinking of making a change?
But everything comes with its pros & cons. No doubt, if you make your blog dofollow you will see high increase in your traffic. There are two ways through which more traffic will come. First of all, someone who visits your blog will come again to find new posts to comment. It will increase the number of your regular readers. Besides, u can submit your blog to dofollow search engines or directories & lists. You will get more backlinks & consequently more visitors.
But it will surely degrade your comment quality unless you moderate hard enough. Comments like ” thanks!” or “Great info!” will be posted in great numbers. And you will find it really hard to find who really thanked you after all
These are unconventional spam. Conventional spammers will try to target your site more. If you are using WordPress, you will need to find a strong combination of anti-spam plugins.
So, as you can see, you have to take bad with good too. Do you want traffic in quick time? Use dofollow & fight spam. Use nofollow & handle less spam. But then, no quick hike in traffic!
