Yeah! These guys from Master Google SEO company have been giving away free SEO service for quite a while now. And this free service doesn’t only mean there will be only keyword analysis and SEO analysis and to do the optimization you will have to pay from your pocket. Rather they will do some basic website optimization stuff according to their SEO analysis of your site. And that includes meta tag and HTML tag optimization, image ALT tag optimization and inserting keywords in your textual content where they see fit. You will be able to see improvements in your search engine ranking in Google, Bing and Yahoo in the coming first few weeks. And for that you don’t have to manually search with your keywords and find your site. Master Google will be sending a weekly report with all these.

Currently they give away this free SEO service to 60 clients per month on first come first serve basis. And your website needs to have a pagerank of 2+ for entire website optimization, otherwise you will get only homepage optimization.

I was wondering why they give this SEO service for free. So they said in their site that they want to show their professional approach to SEO and with the results that you will get from this free search engine optimization you might want to purchase a Top of Google Guarantee package from them And anyway they will be putting a link in your site pointing to their site to promote their SEO service.

Does it sound too good to be true Don’t have any doubt. StartSSL has been offering free SSL certificate for a long time now. And it’s not just for testing purpose like some other SSL providers provide you with 30 or 90 days of free trial certificates. It’s a real deal. Each free SSL certificate has one year validity and you can have unlimited renewal after that. It can be a good free alternative if you are using COMODO PositiveSSL certificate. Both have 128/256-Bit encryption and both basically validate only domain name and email address of the subscriber. But for PositiveSSL you will have to pay $49/year if you buy directly from PositiveSSL site or $8.95 if you use a reseller like NameCheap, whereas StartSSL is 100% free. And like any other well-known SSL providers like Thawte or Comodo, this certificate supports all major browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome.

This is perfect for you if you want to give privacy to your users while registering, logging in or updating their personal information and prevent eavesdropping on your site. But you have to manage a dedicated ip address to install a SSL certificate and you have to pay it from your own pocket to your hosting provider

I was looking for a YouTube to WMA conversion service that is free. There are lots of YouTube to MP3 online converters that you will find if you search Google. But trust me finding a free online service to convert YouTube video to .wma file was not that easy. After searching for quite a while I was able to find Mobile Media Converter online service where you can convert YouTube Videos to Windows Media Audio format. Of course, there are few other options too like converting to .mp3 file. But I was looking for WMA format conversion specifically because WMA format is generally smaller than same quality MP3 files.

I just want to clarify one thing here. By definition, an audio file with same bit rate will have same size in WMA and MP3 formats. But the thing is WMA audio sounds better with lower bit rate. And you can distinguish the difference till like 128 kbps. Above that bit rate anyway sound will be great for both WMA and MP3

Today I will share a free YouTube video to mp3 conversion service that I use frequently. This service is pretty cool and more importantly fast. When you go to that site, you will find the text box to enter the YouTube video url. And you will get two options to convert:

Standard Quality

High Quality

High quality conversion depends on the availability of a high quality YouTube video stream. But you better select the high quality option as unless the video stream is of high quality, it will always convert to standard quality eventually. And it only takes few seconds more than standard conversion.

Anyways, the mp3 file that you get after standard conversion is more than good enough

I needed to check a user registration program, and I needed some random email ids to get the activation mails. But it is pretty annoying if you just try to create email id each time from conventional email service providers like Gmail or Yahoo mail. Most of the time you will find that the email address is already taken. And anyway you have to fill lots of information in the registration form. So I was looking for a easy to use disposable email service. Disposable email id gets dumped after certail period. So nobody can access it and thus it is quite secure.

I checked a few disposable email address providers. But I liked 10 Minute Mail most. For other free disposable email services, you may get options to choose a user name and different domains. But do you really need all those options? It is supposed to dissolve after a few minutes. So why care! 10 Minute Mail just serves the basic purpose. They will automatically generate an email address with your one click & it will be valid for 10 minutes. If you want, you can increase the validity again by 10 minutes with a click. You can see the time to expire on the screen which gets updated every minute. And you can check any mail that has come to your inbox.

Just check it out. It can serve your purpose pretty neatly.

Perhaps many of you have seen Google Talk button in a blog or a site. You can chat with the webmaster if you find him online. But I never cared to go into the details of it. I thought only Gmail users can chat with you using it and they will find your Gmail id. But recently I stumbled into a forum page about how easy it is and explored Google Talk chatback badge a bit.

And it is really simple and good enough to protect your privacy. You just need to create your own chatback badge. You can use your existing Gmail account to create one. Or if you want to create Google Talk chatback badge for your own domain using Google Apps, go to this link http://www.google.com/talk/service/a/DOMAIN/badge/New where DOMAIN is your own domain name. But anyway the user won’t find your Gtalk id. And moreover anybody can have a chat with you. They don’t need to be a Gtalk or Gmail user.

They will only see the badge title that you choose as your nickname. So you have nothing to worry about leaking your personal information. And about implementation, it is the easiest thing to embed in your site or blog. Just cut and paste some HTML code into your source code and you can see the Google Talk bubble wherever you want.

For last few days I have been using this free website screenshot thumbnail service to capture images of other blogs and post them. So I thought I should mention it here in case if you are looking for a quick one. It is called Shrink The Web. You will just enter the url in the submit box to generate the screenshots. And you don’t have to wait for long in a queue before your request get processed. It almost gets processed immediately.

They will give you six screenshots of different size. Here are the screenshot sizes 75×56 90×68 100×75 120×90 200×150 320×200. As you can see the biggest size is 320×200 which serves my purpose pretty well. If you need smaller, thumbnail kind of image you can choose from other five. The picture quality is quite alright too.

Here is a screenshot of this blog:

Do you know Yahoo has a media player that can auto-detect & play all the mp3 links on your site without taking your visitors away from your own page? Yahoo Media Player is still in beta. But what attracts me most is its simplicity to use. From a webmaster perspective, all you need to do is to add a single line of HTML code in your script. And all the things are taken care of automatically. Now whenever you post a mp3 link in your site or in your blog post, Yahoo Media Player will detect it & add a play button just before it.

And when user clicks on that link a floating media player panel will open at the bottom of your page. It will play the next track automatically when the current one is finished & even has a button to play the next track if you don’t want to listen to the current track anymore. It’s like making your page an active audio playlist.

As, you can see, it is quite simple & soothing to the eye. And, yet it has all the basic functionalities. So if you post lots of mp3s in your blog & want users listen to them & stay at your page, it can be a handy tool. I tested it in a WordPress blog. I just added the single line of HTML in a widget & it worked fine.

Recently I told you about Google url shortening service that you can use with FeedBurner feed to serve your blog updates automatically in Twitter. I told you that I was looking forward to use this fully Google operated service. But I couldn’t access my TwitterFeed account to remove my feed from there as Technorati OpenId is working no more. So I contacted TwitterFeed through Twitter few times & they transferred my feed to a new account that I created. They usually replied back within a day or two & I am quite satisfied with their sincere effort.

From then, I thought I can stick to them. Their service is pretty good after all. For serving blog updates in Twitter, Google has one more option of creating Hash Tags automatically from <category> element of your blog platform like “Labels” element in Blogger. Hash Tags help different Twitter clients to filter & group tweets depending on these tags. But TwitterFeed has one distinctive feature too. You can find the total number of clicks for each of your post that you served as blog update in Twitter. That is also a handy feature. So for now, I am with TwitterFeed

It’s first day of 2010 & I am starting it with a rough review! About a few weeks ago I wrote a post on CopyGator as a potential free Copyscape alternative. I was pretty impressed with their large database & the results that they showed for copied content when I searched for few blogs. But as I tried to submit my RSS feed there to keep track of copied content from my blog, it left me pretty disappointed. Though the page says that my RSS feed is in queue & I will get an overview page within 10-15 minutes, more than 15 days have passed & still no luck. It got stuck in the queue. I mailed their support several days ago, but they didn’t reply. Though it is a free service & I can’t ask much, I just wanted at least a bit better service from their part.
