Google Buzz, Another Reason For Using Gmail!

Did you check Google’s new social sharing service Google Buzz? If you are a regular Gmail user like me, then you probably already have tried it. With the integration of  Flicker, Picasa, Google Reader, Blogger and even Twitter, this has all the potential to give Twitter a hard time as a microblogging service. On one line, it’s just like Twitter where you can update your status messages with your followers. Here you can even upload media like pictures and video.

Take a look at the picture to get some of the coolest features

It will give you the feel of Twitter when you see it, and with a lot more options for interaction with your contacts.

And as I have told you, you can integrate Twitter to your Google Buzz as Twitter is a free application. That means you can access all tweets from Buzz. And as Google is rolling it out as an integration to Gmail, lots of users will get notified and try it without much fuss. Besides, any Google product gets the attention without much fuss :)

So we have to wait and see, where Google Buzz takes us in the microblogging market.

You want Google to give a hard time to both Twitter and FaceBook…right? :)
I just want to see how popular can Buzz become in a short period of time…can it compete Twitter…with Google you never know ;)

I actually disagree. I don’t like buzz, and I don’t think it was a good idea to integrate it with Gmail. Buzz was just spamming my Gmail account with posts.

I have written a few posts on my blog why I think buzz is a google killer. You might want to have a read.

I agree to some extent that is has some privacy issues. That automatic following option of contacts, they could have made it more visible to the users when they launched it. But other from that, actually you have all the options like turn it on or off. So like if your Gmail getting full with your followers commenting in your updates, you can turn off the option of receiving a mail when someone comment on your status. If you like Twitter, then I don’t see any reason why you will not like Google Buzz. It is just like Twitter with more options.
Yeah, they could have launched it standalone. But they are using the Gmail user base to get popularity in quick time :)
