How to Play Video Files Having Ordered Chapters

If you are an anime fan and download mini encoded mkv files for watching anime series, then you have probably encountered this format called Ordered Chapters. So basically the uploading team will cut the opening and ending themes of the anime to two separate files. These two will be common for all the main episode files and should be placed in the same folder. That way the file size of the main anime episodes will be significantly less and it will be quicker to upload and download and will save some bandwidth.

But the issue isĀ  that sometimes VLC media player can’t play these mkv files. And even when it can it will only play the main episode file without adding the opening and ending songs. This is because VLC can’t recognize this ordered chapters format. Now here is the solution. You will need to download and install Combined Community Codec Pack. It’s completely free. Now after you install CCCP, you can go to CCCP Settings from start menu. There on the settings window click Next and you will see Haali Media Splitter options like in the above screenshot. Just make sure the video format MKV is checked. Now try to play the episodes using Windows Media Player Classic that comes up with this Combined Community Codec Pack. Now you can enjoy the whole anime episode with opening and ending themes seamlessly.

And one more thing, after you install this pack you can play normal MKV files using your Windows Media Player too. So there is another reason to install this free media codec pack :)
